Two thousand years ago the political mess of the day was observed by the famous story teller Aesop. In those days democracy was invented. The same political lies as we hear now were told by the politicians of two thousand years ago. When my friend said he would hope the same party stays in power, so that no new thieves would have to be put up, I thought of Aesop's story:
A young fox had the urge to cross the river so he jumped in and started to swim. The current was much stronger than he had anticipated and totaly exhausted he reached the other shore. Shivering from the cold and hardly able to stay on its feet he struggled up the shore and to add to his misery he got stuck in a thorn bush. While he waited there to gather his strenght a swarm of horse flies descended on him and started to suck his blood. A hedgehog came walking past and saw the ordeal of the fox and offered to remove the flies. "Shall I take the flies of you young fox, they must surely bother you a lot?" asked the hedgehog. But the fox replied: "No, no, do nothing of the sort, please leave them where they are." Surprised the hedgehog asked: "But why mister fox, the flies are biting you and sucking blood?" The fox explained: " Let them be where they are, they are full of blood already and they suck no more, but when you chase them off, new ones will come and they may not leave a drop of blood in me."
